KAZAKHSTAN is the world’s 9th largest country. Geographically, the country is located deep in the Eurasian continent, at the crossroads between Europe and Asia. The 5-year-long programme on upgrade and development of housing utilities was launched in 2010 in Kazakhstan. It will be implemented until 2014, and its main areas include: renovation of existing utilities and municipal facilities, water supply (100% access to high-quality water), and establishment of the institutional basis to improve performance of the housing utilities sector.
The unified customs area became effective on 1 July 2010 in Kazakhstan, Russia, and Belarus.

The current “industrialisation map” of Kazakhstan includes more than 100 projects with the total value of $45 billion.
